Commissioned Artwork

I create commissioned paintings for your nature-oriented business or organization.

I work on a variety of wildlife- and nature-themed projects for nature organizations that help to communicate important scientific and conservation concepts to the public. I work with you to refine and finesse each project until it matches your specifications. Example projects include: illustrations for merchandise; exhibit and interpretive signage; infographics; illustrations for research papers, and field guides. To the left is a sticker series I illustrated for Hawk Mountain Sanctuary in 2025, featured in their visitor center giftshop.

My artwork is scientifically accurate and incorporates years of training and practice in realistic natural history illustration.

I use my firsthand field sketches along with photographs to ensure that my scientific illustrations are accurate to the real thing. I will often consult with scientists well-versed in the subject I am drawing to double-check its accuracy. This image was created as a cover for a research paper I contributed to focusing on Evening Grosbeaks’ diet (Kirsch et al. 2025, https://doi.org/10.3390/d17120837).

I am able to create engaging signage and infographics.

Need interpretive signage, wildlife identification brochures or field guides? I have experience in graphic design and writing, and can produce engaging visual layouts with well-researched yet concise information. I also have training in best practices for optimizing the interpretive potential of educational signage. The page on the left was created for the newsletter of a local fishing and hunting club.
